Robert Newhall’s Missions Update—June 2016
Missionary to Mexico
Helping to provide bilingual children’s ministry resources to rural churches and ministries in Mexico.
I almost have 30 units completed now. I have enjoyed focusing a bit more on some of the drama section of them. I started including fun drama warm up activities. These are a lot of fun and will help kids and youth work together and improve the performing arts aspect of what Fantastic Kids is about. Barney and I have been working on a description for promotional purposes too.
Kid-Helper Resource Center Promotion
Barney and I will be promoting the Kid-Helper Resource Center at his church. WACC http://www.wacc.net/. It will be great to help promote resource centers for Mexico. We will have a booth there during their missions emphasis day this Sunday. Yes, Barney and I are working on a description for promoting this as well.
The Humor of Jesus
Jesus gave James and John a nickname. Do you know what it was? Why did he gave them the nickname? See below for the answer.
Spanish Birthday Books
I just confirmed the order. 1,000 Spanish Birthday Books. I look forward to placing them where they will go to rural ministries in Mexico. (—http://kidhelperresources.3dcartstores.com/—)
$1 Object Lessons
I have been enjoying blogging object lessons. For this series I am writing them on objects that cost no more than $1, such as dollar store items. Check them out on my Blog. https://robertnewhall.wordpress.com
Summer Ministry “DATE” change
So far I have two VBS and preaching ministry opportunities planned:

???—Back to School Blast (Saturday, July 23, 2016)

—Sunday Service Preaching Sunday, July 31, 2016
Boardman First Baptist Church (—https://www.facebook.com/First-Baptist-Church-111686545536925/—)
—VBS (Monday – Friday, August 1 – 5, 2016)
—Sunday Service Preaching (Sunday – August 7, 2016)
I was inspired by La Fuente Ministries and one of the Nana’s Casa boys. Part of their theme for children’s ministry is a Rubik’s Cube right now. The boy let me try to work his Rubik’s Cube. I promised him that I would learn how. I am also inspired by Karl. Each time I have seen him, he takes a few minutes here and there to work on more advanced Rubik’s Cubes. So I got the original 3 x 3. I had one as a kid and learned to take it apart in order to put it back together. Yes, pop a center plate and there was a screw that could be taken out. Not sure they are made the same nowadays. But thanks to YouTube I have all but the last two algorithms memorized. I hope to use it as an object lesson to present the gospel and work into a personal testimony. Here is an example on YouTube that inspires me (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKBnogdmMlw).
The Humor of Jesus
—“James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James (to whom he gave the name Boanerges, that is, Sons of Thunder);” (Mark 3:17 ESV) And why—A village of Samaritans rejected them all, so they asked Jesus, “Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them?” (Luke 9:51-56 ESV) Can you imagine the telling and retelling of this funny story? Especially Jesus’ implication that James and John, even with both of them together, were no match for Elijah the Tishbite! (2 Kings 1).
Please pray for my trip friday to Barney’s near L.A., CA. We will be promoting Kid-Helper Resource Centers for Mexico. That will be on Sunday at his church.
And for my planning for my summer trip to promote and raise funds for more resource centers in Mexico.
That I will raise enough for at least two more resource centers to be placed this fall.
That La Fuente Ministries will do well using the resources we took them in their ministry. Getting the gospel to many children in their ministry.
To finish a lot of writing on Fantastic Kids before my summer trip.
For God to lead us in contacts, connections and leads on areas to place more resources in Mexico.
You are the ones making this vision and work possible. Thank you ever so much for your prayers and support. You are like Moses, Aaron, and Hur up on the mountain side interceding without growing weary (Ex. 17:12).
What did you enjoy about it?
I am working through a few things on a personal level in a book that I am reading (—http://www.smartpassiveincome.com/will-it-fly-is-live/—). Last time I shared one of my favorite memories following the teaching example of Karl Bastian the Kidologist. Here is another one of the questions that inspired me about my missions work. Enjoy! Blessings.
- Working with a variety of people in different circumstances and situations doing a variety of ministries and projects.
- I love the variety of learning challenges that I have faced. Learning to live with people in a different culture, learning a new language, learning how to teach in new, exciting and fun ways. That motivates me.
- I love to help others in a variety of ways. I love to teach. When I have the opportunity to teach children, I enjoy it a lot. But when I am able to help/teach other younger people to teach children, that is the cat’s meow for me.
